Price and Powertrains
Every Camry is a hybrid, making 225 hp (168 kW) with front-wheel drive or 232 hp with all-wheel drive, according to Toyota.
Honda splits the Accord in two. The LX and SE use a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 192 hp (143 kW), while the Sport, EX-L, Sport-L and Touring are hybrids with 204 hp (152 kW) and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm).
That means the Accord is the cheapest way into either car, at $28,395 for the gas LX. But once you want a hybrid, the Camry LE undercuts the Accord Sport by $4,095.
Fuel Economy
Toyota lists a 51 mpg combined EPA estimate (4.6 L/100 km) for the front-drive Camry LE, and 46 mpg for other front-drive grades based on the EPA’s 2026 figures. The Accord Hybrid is rated at 48 mpg for the EX-L and 44 mpg for the Sport, Sport-L and Touring. Gas Accords get 31 to 32 mpg.
Say you drive 12,000 miles a year. A Camry LE would use about 235 gallons, an Accord Sport Hybrid about 273 and a gas Accord LX about 375 (our calculation).

Standard Tech
Honda gives every 2026 Accord a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless phone charger, after upgrading the LX and SE for this model year.
The Camry LE has an 8-inch touchscreen, and Toyota’s 12.3-inch screen arrives on the XLE. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on every Camry, while IIHS lists it as optional on the Accord.
Safety Ratings and Recalls
IIHS named the 2026 Accord a 2026 Top Safety Pick, with Good results in all three crash tests and for its headlights. The 2026 Camry earned the higher 2026 Top Safety Pick+, though its headlights are rated Acceptable.
NHTSA gives both the 2027 Camry Hybrid and the 2027 Accord 5 stars overall. Its recall database lists two recalls for 2026 Accord Hybrids involving the tire repair kit, whose sealant bottle cap may detach under pressure, and none for the 2027 Camry.
Which Sedan to Buy
For most buyers who want a hybrid, the Camry LE is the better value. It costs less than any Accord Hybrid, carries the higher fuel-economy rating and offers all-wheel drive.
The Accord makes more sense if your budget tops out below $29,000, since the gas LX is the cheapest car here, or if you prefer Honda’s top-rated headlights.
Honda hadn’t announced 2027 Accord pricing when we checked, so these figures may shift once it does.
Prices, specifications, trims and availability vary by model year and market and can change at any time. Check the manufacturer’s official site or an authorized dealer before you buy.
